The Dreaming Will Initiative proudly presents:

souls in hope

On the morning of 23rd March 2003, the Dreaming Will Initiative, a joint venture between the London Shakespeare Workout Prison Project (LSW) and Prisons Video Magazine (PVM), held its inaugural screening in front of a large audience at the Curzon Soho Cinema, 99 Shaftesbury Avenue in the heart of London's West End.  It was a prestigious debut.

Following the presentation which mixed the inaugural films with live entertainment made up of original writing by inmates with whom LSW has been privileged to work, four camera stations in and around the various lobbies were established to afford those attending the opportunity to voice their comments and make suggestions for  future programmes should they desire to do so.  The results were truly heart-rendering.

As a result, we have created a new film, SOULS IN HOPE, (seventeen minutes, 40 seconds), to honour these sentiments and have dutifully intermixed those same with colourful out-takes from The Wax King.

Among those heard in SOULS IN HOPE are the distinguished performers Isla Blair, Sheila Reid, Gayle Hunnicutt and Lynn Farleigh; the celebrated psychologist, Lady Simone Warner and the award-winning film-maker and internationally noted criminologist, Professor Roger Graef.  We were also delighted to note that several ex-offenders summoned up sufficient courage to add their voices and all in attendance were especially delighted that 'oh, noble warrior' Leon, who took active part in The Wax King 'inside' was able to attend with his lovely wife, Jeanette.  Everyone wishes Leon much success on the out.
