Eh?! I thought this was meant to be about reviews, etc, not a forum for flushes (Parisian or otherwise)! Anyway, I really must recommend Kenneth Branagh's Love's Labours Lost which I was lucky enough to sneak into a preview of this week. It is a sumptuous throwback to the days of Hollywood 30's glamour, replete with all those shmaltzy songs your granny used to sing. It is beautifully shot, with emphasis on brilliant colour and delicate design. Not for the purists : there's very little Shakespeare actually in it and the wonderful Muscovites have been sacrificed for 'masked delights' (my one majoy criticism of the film), but the abundance of comedy compensates, particularly Timothy Spall's all to brief appearances, which comprise one of the best screen performances I've ever seen. High Comedy - 8/10 High Brow - 2/10
